While regalia is not required to participate in any of the Georgetown Law Commencement events, many graduates choose to wear the attire. The Law Center’s regalia consists of a gown with velvet bands, a hood, and an six-cornered velvet tam with a purple tassel, to signify the study of law.

Graduate candidates can rent regalia on Josten’s website here
Go to Graduation Products > Graduation Caps & Gowns

The deadline to order your regalia is Thursday, March 27. Regalia orders will be ready for pick up at the Law Center Bookstore starting Monday, May 5, through Saturday, May 17, during regular business hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Law Center Bookstore will also be open on Saturday, May 17 (the only Saturday opening).

The rental cost is $122, and payment is due at the time of pickup at the bookstore.

After Commencement

After the Commencement, rented regalia must be returned to the Law Center Bookstore or Main Campus Bookstores no later than Friday, May 23. You may be charged a fee if your regalia is not returned.

Graduates may also mail regalia with attention to the Georgetown Law Bookstore at: 550 1st Street NW Washington D.C., 20001. Please include a name and a phone number in case we need to get in touch.
